Latissimus dorsi and teres major injuries are increasingly recognized as important causes of pain and performance limitation in overhead athletes, especially baseball pitchers. Because these injuries can be difficult to identify through clinical examination and are often under-characterized on traditional MRI, musculoskeletal ultrasound provides a valuable alternative. This pictorial review highlights the ultrasound features of common latissimus dorsi and teres major injuries, demonstrating how dynamic, high-resolution imaging can improve diagnostic accuracy, increase clinician familiarity with this anatomy, and inform future research on ultrasound-based injury classification.
